As a CNC Operator, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by operating and managing computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Setting up CNC Machines: Prepare machines for production by selecting and installing the appropriate tools and fixtures, ensuring everything is aligned correctly for accurate machining.
- Operating CNC Machines: Monitor and control the CNC machines during the manufacturing process to ensure they are functioning properly and producing high-quality products.
- Reading Blueprints and Technical Drawings: Understand and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to accurately produce parts that meet specific requirements.
- Quality Control: Regularly inspect finished products using precision measuring tools to verify they meet specifications. This will ensure the final product is of high quality and free of defects.
- Maintaining Equipment: Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to keep them in good working order. This includes cleaning, lubricating, and making minor repairs when necessary.
- Recording Production Data: Maintain accurate records of production numbers, machine performances, and any issues encountered during the manufacturing process.
To excel in this role, you need to have at least 3 to 4 years of experience operating CNC machines, preferably with an ITI education. You should be familiar with various CNC software and tools, possess strong attention to detail, and have good problem-solving skills. A solid understanding of engineering concepts and the ability to work safely and effectively in a team are also essential.
